dude I swear bryke were just like ‘ugh, the fans keep asking for general iroh ii to come back… dammit, we’ll just make mako more like him, they’ll never notice!’
i mean, frick, his hair, his uniform and mannerisms, and even his face… the only point of difference now are the sharkbrows
unless iroh’s gone through a hairstyle/fashion change like everyone else, this will get hella confusing
Hi all you beautiful people!
First off, thanks for sticking by this artblog even though I hardly post a thing. I’ve been going through a lot of personal stuff lately and I’m basically really tired, drained and uninspired most of the time, so naturally, not a lot of art comes out. I’ve been working full time as an ‘illustrator’, but I haven’t drawn a thing at work for over a month now… I’ve basically turned into admin/jack-of-all-trades girl, so that hasn’t been helping me practice either.
I spend way too much time comparing myself to other artists who go home every night and work their asses off to get better, and I just get home, play games, and fall into bed most nights lately. I feel so inadequate and unworthy of my job a lot of the time, because my improvement as an artist has really hit a brick wall at the moment.
Anyway, I’ll get my art mojo back someday… I just need to work through my silly, negative and uninspired brain and work some love, life and optimism into it.
Sorry for the rant, but I figured I’d explain the inactivity. Love you guys - I hope to be making lots of beautiful art as soon as I can!
I just really have a thing for the Beifongs, don’t I!?
My Opal wig came today. Just did a bit of a make-up test and whatever. I haven’t even started the costume yet…OTL…
All things in due time I guess. Also, wow… posting pictures of myself without crawling away in shame. This is really weird.
Welp, looks like someone got around to painting some ladies… =w=
I’ve been determinedly chipping away at the badass Beifong painting for the last week or so, and I’m just about through both Lin and Suyin. I still have a few things to go though, like Su’s arms…
…then it’ll be on to the rocks.
Someone save me. ;^;
Also, new icon! It’s a nice change from the old one, and it kind of shows my development in painting faces… and it’s Suyin. So naturally it kicks butt. :P
A quick PSA and a huge welcome
Hey guys! First off, a massive welcome to all the gorgeous new followers I have! Where did you all come from!? Ahhhh! Thanks so much for deciding to keep up with my sporadic artistic adventures. I hope I can live up to your expectations with my very busy schedule. OTL
Speaking of busy schedules - to all those who’ve been sending me colour palette requests, don’t worry, I have received them and will get to them when time permits. It might just take a few weeks… gotta love that full time job! At least I get paid to draw. Can’t complain about that. =w=;
Love you guys!
Here, have some bad-ass bending Beifongs.
Here I go again with the black-and-white things… but fear not, this will eventually become a painting.
Eventually being the operative word, haha.
Anyway, this is set during the Book 3 finale, when Su and Lin are facing off against P’li. Explosions coming soon.
Lastly, a huge thanks to Senshistock for some kickass references.
A very irate Iroh would like to have a serious word with Dante Basco and Bryke, it seems.
Despite being promised yet denied the presence of this dashing general, LoK Book 3’s finale was epic beyond proportions. The emotional stake was that much higher than Book 2 and it was so wonderful to see how far all the characters had come. One of my favourite bits was Su and Lin’s sisterly moment before taking down P’li. And of course, Jinora getting her tattoos, Bolin lavabending and all the airbenders working together as one.
In any case, I was disappointed Iroh was a no-show. However, it seems he’ll have at least a small role in Book 4, if not more, so this fangirl is content to wait.
And even though I sketch this man far too much, it gave me some great anatomy and expression practice. So hooray for that.
"Grandfather, I thought you were a Pai Sho master!"
screw the heartache and tears the finale will inevitably bring seriously just no
just give me uncle iroh, general iroh and fatherlord zuko having family funtimes in the spirit world okay
is that too much to ask bryke
Okay, this has been on the backburner for freaking months and the colours were basically throwing a hissy fit, so I had to revert to mishmashed tones and lines and stuff. After realising the finale was so close I figured if I didn’t do anything with it now, it would never see the light of day. There are probably mistakes everywhere, but that’s okay… I’ll fix them tomorrow… [and ignore that Pai Sho table I literally just threw tiles on there randomly and ran away…]
seriously i just want my three babies interacting together…hnnnnng
Also, yes, this is indeed a Pai Showdown. Get your act together, Zuko!
look I made a thing and it took me under two hours
Anyway, got home from SMASH today, and felt super motivated by all the awesome art I saw and the sunset that waved me goodbye on the ride home.
Bashed this together in about two hours and messed with colour. It features a species I call the Mystic Fox, who scour the world for knowledge. And yes, this came long before I heard of Wan Shi Tong’s spirit library. =w=
Anyway, explored some themes of self-discovery and the endless limit of obtainable knowledge as compared to billions of stars in the sky.
Here’s a birthday sketch I did for the awesome, kickass heyspacekid last weekend. Seriously one of my favourite artists - it was so awesome to draw his awesome foxy fursona!
